Domaine Clusel-Roch started as Domaine Clusel, founded by the René Clusel who began bottling his wine in 1969. At the time, René Clusel had but one hectare of vineyard along with many hectares of apricot trees.

In 1962, Maurice Combier left the Ardèche and bought property in Pont de l'Isère, about 15 kilometres north of Valence. There he continued his father Camille's tradition of growing fruit.

Domaine Richard was founded in the 1950s by Vincent Richard who, in addition to wine, also grew fruit trees, mainly apricots. In 1984, grandson Hervé became part of the domaine, mainly working in the vineyards.

Roland Betton is a farmer who lives in La Roche-de-Glun in the southern sector of Crozes-Hermitage. For decades he has sold his apricots, almonds and cherries to various cooperatives, and for the past fifteen years his grapes made their way south to Vacqueyras, where they were sold to the Pascal firm.
