Southern Rhône Region
The Domaine du Grand Montmirail is located at 350 meters altitude, just below the beautiful Dentelles de Montmirail. The 59-acre vineyard is planted at a southern exposure, on a clay and chalk-based soil littered with cannonball-sized rocks. The cuvée Les Deux Juliettes was named after the daughters of the producer (Yves Chéron) and the importer (Charles Neal), both of whom have young girls named Juliette. The blend is 80% grenache (from 40 to 50-year-old vines), 15% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre (from 15-year-old vines). The yield was just over two tons (33 hl /ha) to the acre and all the fruit was harvested manually.

The juice first underwent a cold maceration in stainless-steel tanks for five days. Fermentation began using solely indiginous yeasts. It ran between 10 and 15 days during which time the cap was punched and the juice pumped over. This cuvée remained in tank for 12 months before being bottled without filtration.
